To uphold the quality philosophy of “Safety First, Quality at Heart” and continuously enhance the welding quality of structural components, HELI & YUFENG hosted the 2025 Welding Skills Competition on July 29.
The event adopted a “train through competition, improve through practice” approach, sharpening team skills and strengthening real-world capabilities. Sparks flew and enthusiasm soared at the competition site. Experts from the Process, Technology, and Quality Departments served as judges, while front-line participants showcased their craftsmanship and pursuit of excellence — reflecting the spirit of precision manufacturing that drives Yufeng forward.
The competition received strong support from the company’s labor union and leadership, who meticulously planned all aspects — from venue layout and equipment readiness to logistics, safety, and process control. In the run-up to the event, General Manager Xiang Weifeng and senior executives personally visited the site to inspect and guide preparations, ensuring a stable and competitive environment for participants to perform their best.
The competition combined theoretical knowledge with hands-on assessments, thoroughly evaluating participants’ expertise, technical skills, and overall competence.
Theory test
Focusing on industry standards and customer needs, the competition featured three major categories: flat welding, vertical/fillet welding, and stainless steel sheet welding. Each category included tailored mock components for practical evaluation. Contestants worked under tight timelines, concentrating intensely to deliver precision welds that met strict quality requirements — all while balancing speed and accuracy.

After intense rounds, the judging panel scored each welded product based on unified criteria, selecting 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, and 3 Third Prizes based on combined theoretical and practical results.
Award ceremony
An award ceremony , with Deputy General Manager Peng Yongcheng delivering closing remarks. He praised the participants' dedication and outstanding performance, congratulated the winners, and emphasized Yufeng’s commitment to its “people-first, skills-driven” talent philosophy. He noted that the establishment of the labor union this year has created a stronger sense of belonging and higher participation, injecting new energy into skills development across the company.
